Walter Murray Obituary

Walter ""Walt"" Murray, age 94, of Sugar Island, Michigan passed away Tuesday morning, January 10, 2017 at Hospice House in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan.
Walt was born on October 17, 1922 in Goodrich, Michigan to the late Wilford and Cora Belle (Taylor) Murray. He served his country proudly in the United States Army during WWII in the South Pacific, earning the rank of Sergeant. Walt was a graduate of Baker College where he attended on the GI Bill. On August 1971, he married Jean Grim in Flint, Michigan. He worked as an accountant, owning his own firms in; Fenton, MI and Sault Ste. Marie, MI. Walt enjoyed his wolf hounds, hunting and fishing, his Jazz, playing his guitar, and reading. Walt was truly in love with his wife: Jean and enjoyed island life and his family.
Walt is survived by his wife: Jean Murray; and five children: Kathy (Clark Noble) Dickey of Sugar Island, MI, Paul Murray of Fenton, MI, Sharon (Doug) Grovesteen of Sugar Island, MI, Tim Hutchinson of Sugar Island, MI and David Murray of MI. He is also survived by another child: Riley of Sugar Island, MI; many grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and a sister: Ivis Williams from Escanaba, MI.
A private family burial service will be conducted later this spring on Sugar Island. Arrangements are being handled by C.S. Mulder Funeral Home and Cremation Services. Condolences may be left online at http://www.csmulder.com/
