Brian and I were best friends for several years when we lived across the street on Bellevue Ave. in the 1950's. We were inseparable Three Musketeers, along with Mike Kelly, who lived next door. We lost touch when I moved to Wisconsin when I started high school, but thanks to the internet I got a chance to talk to him by phone, briefly, not long before he died. One was our discovery of a series of concrete underground tunnels beneath where a nearby factory had burned down. They were probably heating tunnels, but were just the right size for 3 boys to crawl around. We loved it down in them with all the dirt and spiders. Our other exploration was pretty cool too. We stumbled upon a complet
