Craig Hardman Obituary

Craig Hardman

Sept. 27, 1943 - Sept. 15, 2017

DOWAGIAC - Craig M. Hardman, 73, of Dowagiac, passed away Friday, September 15, 2017, at his home on Magician Lake.

Friends may visit with the family from 4:00 until 7:00 P.M. Friday, Sept. 22, at Clark Chapel, 405 Center St., Dowagiac. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, Sept. 23, at the funeral home, with Rev. Tom Bird officiating. Burial services will be held at 2 pm on Monday, Sept. 25, at Highland Cemetery in South Bend, Indiana.

Craig was born September 27, 1943, in South Bend, to Donald & Ruth (Shultz) Hardman. He graduated from Dowagiac High School, Class of 1961, and attended Indiana University. Craig was employed for many years at Wheel Horse Tractor & May Company. Later he worked as a business consultant in San Francisco, CA. Craig currently operated his own tree service and construction company. On December 31, 2014, he married the former Pamela Botos Likens in Pewaukee, WI. Craig cherished the time spent at his home on Magician Lake where he enjoyed many water sports - boating, skiing & fishing, spending time with his family, watching NASCAR, old Westerns & Johnny Carson, reading, jig saw & crossword puzzles. Craig had the privilege one time to drive the Pace Car at the Indianapolis 500 Motor Speedway. Because he valued his friendships so highly, he was very involved in organizing his class reunions. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Craig is survived by his wife, Pamela; his former wife, Veronica Rose of South Bend; his son, Jerry (Connie Erickson-Loucks) Hardman of North Liberty, IN; one stepson, Christopher Likens, Sun Prairie, WI; & three stepdaughters, five step-granddaughters - Abigail Thompson, his sister, Faith (Barcey) Rogers of Decatur, MI; his niece, Julia Wolf of Plainwell, MI; two aunts - Carolyn (Harold) Shultz McKee of Elkhart, IN, Judy (Clarence) Rush Templeton of Goshen, IN; cousins - Kevin Rush, Sue Rush, Diane Cooper, Doug Lantz, Dick Shultz, Howard Hardman, Marsha Worm, Bruce Hardman & Danny Hasley; and special friends - Wesley, John, Mike, Jim, Dave, Bill & Adolph. Craig was preceded in death by his parents - Donald Hardman & Ruth Virginia Hardman Springsteen, and his best friend, Ernie (Janice) Hensley.

Memorials may be made to The Donald Trump 2020 Re-election Campaign or to The American Cancer Society. Those wishing to sign Craig's Memory Book online may do so at www.clarkch.com.

I am so sorry for your loss Faith! It really saddened me to hear of Craig's passing. He was such a vibrant, kind, and compassionate person! I am so glad he came to visit dad during his final days. It meant so much to him! And I really enjoyed catching up with Craig on all the years we hadn't seen each other. My prayers are with you during this difficult time. May God wrap his arms around you and comfort you!

We really enjoyed Craig's visit!
