Elizabeth Shultz Obituary

Elizabeth "Betty" Anne Shultz Aug. 14, 1918 - June 10, 2014 SOUTH BEND - Elizabeth "Betty" Anne Shultz went to the Lord on June 10, 2014, from the Milton Home at 10:25 p.m. after gradually declining health. She was born on August 14, 1918, in Lakewood, OH. She lived most of her early life in Salineville, OH, where she completed high school and one extra year of bookkeeping training. In about 1937 she came to Osceola, IN where she met Charles Levi Shultz, to whom she was married on February 23, 1940 and moved to South Bend. He preceded her in death in 1982. Betty dearly loved her four children, Charles E. Shultz (Judy) of Hudson, WI, Janet Baxter (Mike) of Cary, NC, Ellen Bystrom (Bruce) of Decatur, MI and Dennis Shultz of South Bend, IN and her six grandchildren, Tim Swoveland, Matthew Marshall, Katie Baxter, Brian Eshult and Patrick and Jeffrey Shultz and eight great grandchildren, Samantha and Patrick Shultz, Dawson and Cameron Swoveland, Tegan Marshall, Gavin, Kian and Keeli Eshult, all of whom survive. Betty was a charter member of Faith United Methodist Church, South Bend (formerly All Saints E.U.B.) where she was a Sunday School teacher and librarian until her early eighties. She had worked as a legal secretary, office worker for Muessel Real Estate, homemaker and later a bookkeeper for Cutting Tools Inc. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, June 13, 2014, at Faith United Methodist Church, 802 E. Ewing Avenue, South Bend, IN. Graveside services and burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, IN. Friends may visit with the family from 5:00 -8:00 p.m. today at the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan St., South Bend, IN, and from 12:30 -1:30 p.m. Friday at church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Faith United Methodist Church, 802, E. Ewing Avenue, South Bend, IN 46613.
