George E. Mooth, Jr.

Feb. 24, 1943 - Feb. 27, 2016

EDWARDSBURG - George E. Mooth, Jr., 73 years old, of Edwardsburg, passed to his rest Feb. 27, 2016 at Elkhart General Hospital after a brief illness. He was born Feb. 24, 1943 in Chicago, the son of George, Sr. and Virginia H. (Boyle) Mooth and has lived most of his life in Edwardsburg.

He worked at Bayer Corp. as an Instrument Tech., and was very knowledgeable in his work. He graduated from Edwardsburg High School and continued his education at State Tech Institute in Plainwell, getting his Associates Degree. He was a member of the Community Baptist Church, Edwardsburg and served in several capacities in the church. He loved the Lord and lived out his FAITH. He loved all Motorsports, especially Drag Racing. He was always ready for a good game of cards with anyone.

Surviving are two sons, Todd (Patricia) Mooth and Shaun (Shelly) Mooth, both of Edwardsburg and three grandchildren, Alyson Mooth, Amanda (Nicholas) Letizia and Ashton Mooth. Other survivors are several cousins. Family who have passed are his parents and his brother, Ronald Allen Mooth.

Family and friends may gather on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 from 5-8 PM at the Paul E. Mayhew Funeral Home, 26863 West Main St. (US-12), Edwardsburg. Cremation will follow the visitation. There will be a Memorial Service of Remembrance on Friday, March 4, 2016 at 4:30 PM in the Community Baptist Church, 28647 US-12, 2 miles west of Edwardsburg. Officiating will be Pastor Dan Thomas, Pastor of the church. Inurnment will follow the service at the Edwardsburg Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to Cass County Cancer Services, P.O. Box 676, Edwardsburg, MI 49112-0676.

Arrangements are by the Paul E. Mayhew Funeral Home, Edwardsburg.
