Jan Watson Obituary

Jan Watson

Feb. 10, 1950 - Jul. 14, 2017

BUCHANAN - Jan Watson, 67, of Buchanan, peacefully joined her family in Heaven on Friday, July 14, 2017. A private memorial service will take place at a later date at Oakridge Cemetery in Buchanan. Jan was born on February 10, 1950, in Niles to Robert & Dorothy (Richter) Bachman. On July 17, 1982, she married Larry Watson. For many years, Jan worked at the Niles Police Department as a secretary in the records department. Jan loved watching old movies and always had on Turner Classic Movies. Her greatest passion in life was her family; Jan loved her children, grandchildren and cat, Bobby more than anything. She was a wonderful person, a friend to all, and will be missed dearly. Jan is survived by her husband, Larry; children, Aaron (Amy) Gaul and Samuel (Andrea) Watson; grandchildren, Zachary & Evan Gaul; siblings, Abby (Gene) Holstein and Phillip Bachman; and sister-in-law, Gayle Bachman. Jan was preceded in death by her parents, Robert & Dorothy; brother, Glenn Bachman; and niece, Janece Wilson. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Southwest Michigan or donor's choice. Those wishing to leave an online condolence may do so at www.swemchapel.com.

Remembering fondly an old friend

Linda Armstrong

November 30, 2017

Just happened to see that Jan had passed away. I was so sorry to hear. I am a cousin of hers and had moved away from Buchanan a long time ago and lost touch with the family. I am Linda (Bachman) Armstrong and I am Richard and Mildred Bachman's daughter and Thom Bachman's sister.
My sympathy goes out to her family.

Jan was a wonderful and caring person. We were neighbors and became good friends. She would do anything for you. Boo and her Bobby became good friends and Boo loved going over to Aunt Jan's apartment. We miss her smiling face everyday. Rest in Peace dear friend. The battle is over and the victory is yours.

Jan was a kind and wonderful woman and Mother. She was a fun loving person and very responsible. As kids we shared cheerleading together and laughed at how clumsy we were at times. I'm proud that we were friends in those important teenage years and when we started our families. My sincere condolences to the family. Rest in Peace Dear Friend

A friend to all she met. I will miss our times of sharing in the waiting room at the dealership. May your trials and tribulations be over. Thoughts and prayers to the entire family.
