Joshua Hurt Obituary
NILES - Joshua Lee Hurt, 34, of Gary Court, Niles, MI, died unexpectedly but of natural causes at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 15, 2011, in his home. Mr. Hurt was born on September 1, 1976, in Niles, to Steven L. and Doris L. (Pfeiffr) Hurt. He graduated from Brandywine High School, Niles, with the class of 1994 and was a lifetime resident of Niles. He was a former employee of the South Bend Chocolate Factory, South Bend, IN. Joshua enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews. He also enjoyed fishing and playing baseball. Mr. Hurt is survived by his fiancée, Susan Knapp of Niles; parents, Steven and Doris Hurt of Niles; brothers, Steven L. (Carol) Hurt of Niles, Benjamin E. (Nikki) Hurt of Aurora, IN, and Joseph A. (Adrianne) Hurt of South Bend; nieces and nephews, Austin Reed Hurt, Lyndi McKenna Hurt, Reese Nicole Hurt, Israel M.G. Hurt and Isaac Benjamin Hurt; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral services for Joshua Lee Hurt will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in Calvary Baptist Church, South Bend, with Rev. Reed Anderstrom of the church officiating. Interment will be at Silverbrook Cemetery, Niles. The family will receive relatives and friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday in Halbritter Funeral Home, Niles. Contributions in memory of Joshua may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, South Bend.

Steve, Carol & the entire Hurt Family:
We are all so truly sorry for the loss of your brother/son. We didn't know Josh but I'm sure if he is anything like Steve, he was a wonderful, caring person. I am so saddened and shocked to hear of Josh's passing. I have such respect for your whole family and can remember watching your boys a few times when I was in high school. My prayers go out to your family at this time of sorrow. I did call my dad in Florida and he did say he would be in touch when he gets back this coming week.

To the Hurt Family, Josh was a very cool guy and very sweet. I went to school with Josh and graduated with him, he will be missed a great deal by many people. The lord took Josh in because it was his time to watch over him. Now Josh can look down on us and watch over all of the peoples lives that he has touched in his life time. We will all meet up with you again some day.

I had the honor of attending school at Brandywine with Josh...I remember him smiling a lot and he had such a distinctive laugh that would make anyone around him laugh along with him..
