Kenneth J. Lucky Aug. 31, 1947 - May 10, 2014 SOUTH BEND - Kenneth J. Lucky, 66, passed away at 9:15 pm Saturday, May 10, 2014, after an extended illness. "Sgt. Rock" fought a courageous battle. Ken was born on August 31, 1947, in South Bend, to John and Virginia (Toth) Lucky, who both preceded him in death. On October 4, 1988, in Las Vegas, he married Julie Williams, who survives. Ken leaves to cherish his memories a mother-in-law, Shirley Donnelly; sisters-in-law, Jinny (Richard) Nerlinger and Gina (Mark) Williams; brother-in-law, Jeff (Robyn) Williams; nieces, Whitney and Abby, and nephews, Justin, Matthew, Chris and Noah; as well as his beloved dogs, Sophie and Gibbs; daughter, Vanessa (Curtis) Cales; stepdaughters, Julie (Jerry) Thompson and Karen (Tony) Strong; grandchildren, Janine, Shyann, Amelia and Jarod; sister, Judith Ann (Bob) Sutton, and their children. Ken was an avid fisherman, hunter, and loved his Harley. He was a pool player who played in several leagues where he won many tournaments and trophies. Ken proudly served his country in the United States Army, serving two tours in Viet Nam where he earned several commendations and ascended to the rank of E7. He returned from Viet Nam then joined the National Guard from where he retired. He attended Washington High School and Ivy Tech and was employed by several local companies as a carpenter and maintenance engineer. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later dater. Zahoran Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements. Sorry on the passing of Kenny Lucky ,I briefly knew of him, from the old neighborhood. I grew up on the westside of South Bend with him and his Sister Judy. He always seemed like he had too much anergy. My best to the family. John Keller
