Marcus Miller Obituary
GRANGER - Marcus Alan Miller, 37, was born February 20, 1971, in Indianapolis, to Marian C. (Miller) Nicks-Walker and Jerry Christopher Anderson, and passed away April 3, 2008, in the IU Medical Center, Indianapolis, after a lengthy illness. Marcus was a 1989 graduate of John Adams High School and attended Michigan State University. An avid basketball fan and player, he attended many high school games with his "Uncle Moe" until his health would no longer allow. Marcus leaves behind his cherished daughter, Myla A. Miller, and her sisters, Jayla and Jamyla, and their mom, Josie Merriweather; mother and stepfather, Marian (Brent) Walker of Granger; his father, Jerry C. (Norma) Anderson of Michigan City; sisters, Melissa C. Nicks, Jacques Anderson, Kathryn Anderson, Shavone, Dominque, Michelle and Emonne; brothers, Kellen, Jerry, Rashone and Jermaine; aunts, Marilyn J. (Nathaniel) Wright, Mary Kemp, Milvern Miller, Lisa, Debra and Patricia; uncle, Maurice Miller; maternal grandparents, Daniel and Minnie Brown; grandparents preceding him in death, maternal great-grandmother, Christine Whiteside; maternal grandfather, Henry Miller Jr.; paternal grandparents, James and Kathryn Styles, and Lilly Anderson; aunts, Alma George, Johnnie Anderson and Elaine Anderson; and uncles, Ricky Style, Larry Anderson and Richard Prather. Marcus leaves behind a host of cousins and friends. Special and loving friends, Mozell and Audrey Bowen, Charles Mack, Ricky Bonds, Tim Thomas and Felicia Baker; We Love You All!! Services for Mr. Marcus Alan Miller will be held at noon Wednesday, April 9, in the Clark-O'Neal Funeral Home, 2702 Lincoln Way West, South Bend, where friends may call one hour before services. Burial will follow funeral services at Highland Cemetery. The Clark-O'Neal Funeral Home has been entrusted with funeral service.

It's me Kim Ross from elementary school & middle school!! I left after our freshman year and moved to Texas but there are just some folks you can never forget. I mean the boys that pull your pony tails and run or tease you every chance they can get like Mark Miller and his cousin Stevie Wright!! I keep in touch regularly with your Aunt Marilyn and she gave me the news that you're on your way to see THE MAN! I saw the photo album and your daughter is Gorgeous!! You did good and even though, she is in great hands, you'll be right there next to her at all times and she knows that! Rest now and go enjoy the world upstairs! If I get a visit from an angel and I feel a tug on my hair, I'll smile because I'll know it's just YOU!

I am very sorry about the loss of your loved one. I never knew Marcus, but I am sure he reflected the very nice qualities, I know to be inherent in the Miller family. Although 37 years ago, seems like only yesterday to me, he touched the hearts of many, that I did not know nor see.
He was a special boy and then a man, little did we know, God had a plan.
Only for a little while he was with us, we cherish the moments that were always a plus.

Take comfort in knowing that now you a special guardian angel to watch over you. Even in your sadness, we hope you can hold on to the thought that a life lived with so much love never really ends, but goes on forever in the hearts of those who remember. Marcus and I went to school together from 1st grade through 12th grade. In 4th grade he and I got in trouble and although it was my fault he took responsiblity. He showed me what a true gentleman was that day in 4th grade and I never forgot him. My deepest sympathy goes out to his family for their loss of a true gentleman and so much more.

With much sorrow I write to express my sympathy to you all. I didn't get to know Marcus on a personal basis but our families have been knitted together first by God and then such a wonderful little angel by the name of Mayla Miller. I look at her and see the love that she has to offer. So sweet and innocent to lifes many sorrows. My prayer is that Gods love will continue to grow in the family. That all the lives that Marcus touched will feel the love of God at this time. May God comfort each of you and May his Grace and Mercy follow you all the days of your life. God Bless each one of you. To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.

because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
