Norma Beitler Obituary

Norma Mae Beitler Feb. 19, 1928 - Nov. 5, 2015 GRANGER - Norma Beitler, 87, of Brick Rd., Granger, IN, died at 7:27 am on Thursday, Nov. 5, in her home. Norma was born on Feb 19, 1928 to Helena (Fricke) Copper Twell and George Copper in Sargent, Nebraska amongst the Sand Hills which she loved. While growing up in Sargent, she attended school in a one-room schoolhouse. She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather (John Twell); one son, John Conard, Jr. and his wife, Bette; husband, Edward Beitler; and seven brothers and sisters. Norma is survived by one son, Ronald Conard, of Michigan; one grandson, Edward John Conard of Hawaii; one granddaughter, Julie (Conard) Collins and husband, Matthew; and one great-grandaughter, Kaisa Collins, all of Utah. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, many close friends, one special "adopted" son, Fr. James Bracke; a special "adopted" daughter, Lori Goodline, and a very close, special friend, Joe Nemes. Norma retired from RACO in 1990 after first starting employment in 1947, and was a long-time member of Little Flower Catholic Church. Norma was a kind, bighearted person, and well loved for her cooking and baking skills -- mostly for her wonderful peanut brittle, homemade dill pickles, and pecan pie. She enjoyed bowling, traveling, dark chocolate of any kind, feeding wildlife, and being around all animals -- especially dogs. She also enjoyed listening to country music, and was also a big fan of Daniel O'Donnell. Per Norma's wishes, there will be no services. Cremation was arranged through Welsheimer Family Funeral Home. There is a celebration of her life planned for a later date. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Heartland Hospice for their support and care of Norma. Condolences may be left at www.welsheimer.com.
