SOUTH BEND - Rev. Robert Lee Plummer, 79, of South Bend, went home to be with our Lord and Savior on Sunday, August 13, 2017 while surrounded by his family. Robert was born April 14, 1938 in Little Rock, Arkansas to the late Eldora Howard and late Clarence Plummer. He had an older brother Edell Plummer who is preceded in death and six other siblings of the Gatewood family in Detroit, Michigan.
Robert met Vivian Francina Pepper and they married June 10, 1961 in Chicago, Illinois. He is survived by his six children: Tina (Samuel) Morris, Robert, Elizabeth, Mark (Natalie), Remona (James) Anderson, and Josephine (Michael) Davis. He had daughter Brittney some years later. His other children were Tyrone and daughter Michelle who is also preceded in death and stepdaughter Pamela. He and his second wife Yvonne were married June 1974. He has 23 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
He attended school in Chicago, Illinois. He moved to South Bend, Indiana. His contribution to ministry will be remembered as well as his music.
The funeral services will be held at Welsheimer Family Funeral Home, 521 N. William Street, South Bend, Saturday, August 19th, at 11:00 a.m., with the wake starting at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. Family and friends may leave e-mail condolences at www.welsheimer.com
