Victor LaBedz Obituary

Feb. 9, 1927 - Mar. 30, 2011
SOUTH BEND - Victor E. LaBedz, 84, of South Bend, passed away at 6:20 a.m. Wednesday, March 30, in his residence after an extended illness. Mr. LaBedz was born on February 9, 1927 in Portsmouth, Ohio, and resided in the South Bend area throughout his lifetime. Victor was a retired mechanical engineer, a veteran of World War II serving in the US Army infantry. He was a member of American Legion Post 284 and the Izaak Walton League. He is survived by close friends and caregivers Mr. and Mrs. Phil Plaia of Michigan. Mr. LaBedz was a kind, generous man who cared and loved numerous friends. He was very proud of his military service to his country. His wishes were to be cremated, which was honored. There will be a memorial service at a later date celebrating the life of this wonderful man. All memorial contributions are to be made to the Southern Care Hospice, 310 W. McKinley Hwy, Mishawaka, IN 46545. The HANLEY & Sons "Southwest Chapel" Funeral Home located at West Ireland Road/Indiana 23, South Bend, handled arrangements and extend its deepest sympathy to the friends of Mr. LaBedz.
