William Rutt Obituary

(aka "Dick" Rutt) -->April 5, 1945 - Nov. 4, 2012 SOUTH BEND - William Richard Rutt, Sr. (aka "Dick" Rutt), 67, of South Bend, Indiana, passed away at 9:20 a.m. Sunday, November 4, 2012. He was born on April 5, 1945, to the late Frank and Tressi (Heroy) Rutt in South Bend, IN, and grew up in Hudson Lake / New Carlisle, IN, before moving to South Bend, Indiana, in 1967. Bill was employed with Allied Barton Security in Mishawaka, Indiana, from 2008 until the time of his death. He was previously employed with Dodge (RMG) Rockwell in Mishawaka, Indiana, from 1969 until his retirement in 2005. Bill was a U.S. Army veteran, and also served his country in the Army National Guard and as a Reserve of the Army. Bill is survived by his wife, Kimberly Phebus Anderson, who he married on August 1, 1998. Also surviving are sons, William R. (Diana) Rutt Jr. of Rolling Prairie, IN, James M. Rutt of South Bend, Indiana; a daughter, Sandra K. Sharts of Lawrence, Kansas; a stepson, Corey (Stephine) Ringenberg of Flagstaff, AZ; a stepdaughter, Melissa (Lonnie) Williams of Osceola, IN; grandchildren, William R. Rutt III, Amanda Rutt (Matt) Delchambre, Nikki Keifer, Dylan Kendle, Robert Kendle, Courtney Ringenberg and Zari Williams; great-grandchildren, Wyatt Rutt, Garett Delchambre, Anthony Hampton & Adarious Hampton; a sister, Barbara Woodwine of Covington, IN; brothers-in-law, Robert (Chris) Phebus, Dennis (Terry) Phebus, Jeffery (Becky) Phebus; his mother-in-law, Janet Jolliff of Washington; and a sister-in-law, Rebecca Phebus of South Bend, IN. A brother, Larry Rutt, preceded him in death on December 15, 1978. Bill was a member of American Legion Post #303 in South Bend, Indiana. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. (South Bend Time) today, November 7, 2012, at Kaniewski Funeral Home, 201 S. Filbert Street, New Carlisle, Indiana. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. (South Bend Time) Thursday, November 8, 2012, at Kaniewski Funeral Home, New Carlisle, Indiana, with military honors to follow.
