STOLLINGS, W.Va. — Michael "Duke" Hackney, 60-years old, of Stollings, died Mon., March 24, 2014.
Born Oct. 9, 1953, at Ethel, he was a son of the late Hubert and Irene Deskins Hackney. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Howard Hackney.
Duke was a graduate of Logan High School and a retired machinist. He enjoyed the outdoors and loved four wheeling, golf, bowling, and NASCAR.
Survivors include one daughter, Kelly Bartlett from Murfreesboro, Tenn., and one granddaughter, Rianna Bartlett. He is also survived by three brothers, Mac (Faye) Hackney of Myrtle Beach S.C., Pete (Judy) of Lavalette, and Timmy (Cheryl) of Stollings; five sisters: Shirley Rutherford and Tammy Duty, both of Madison, Linda (Roger) Workman of Foster, Diana (Don) Cavell of Loris, S.C., and Lisa (Mark) Goodall of Charleston; several nieces and nephews and a host of family and friends.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wed., March 26, at Honaker Funeral Home with Rev. Robbie Gollihue officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill.
Friends may call from noon- 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
