RICHARD SPEARS
LOGAN, W.Va. — Mr. Richard Edward Spears, 66, of Logan, was born Nov. 24, 1948, at Rita, W.Va., a son of the late Russell and Hazel Maggards Spears. He departed this life Mon., March 23, 2015, at Logan Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Spears was a disabled coal miner, a veteran of the US Army, and a Man High School graduate.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, William Jennings and Wetzel Ray Spears, and sister, Drusella Perry.
Survivors include his sons, Richard (Tishie) Spears Jr. and Jennings (fiancée, Melissa Chandler) Spears; stepson, James Browning; sister, Diane Carter Robertson; ex-wife, Linda Spears; grandchildren, Derek Belcher, Caleb Spears, Hannah Spears, Kaitlyn Spears, Kara Spears, Christopher Spears and Ricky Browning; great-grandchildren, Braydon and Hunter Grimmette; step-grandchildren, Connor and Chantz Trent, and a host of beloved nieces and nephews.
At his request, Richard's remains are to be cremated at there will be no services.
Evans Funeral Home and Cremations Service of Chapmanville served the Spears family.

Richard was a man that had a heart of gold and he was always willing to help other in need. He was my boss in the mines and all the men who work for Richard loved him. I use to ride to work with Richard he was always talking about his parents how much he loved them. Richard you are in heaven and i hope some day we meet again, thank you Richard for being my friend and boss you will always be in my heart.

I will miss you my soft spoken cousin. I have many memories of our child hood together. When I think of you I will see us as young kids running through your folks house there at Rita Camp. Love you cousin, and pray you are with God and all our loved ones that passed before us.....xox

Richard its frog (Tammy). I just want to say a few things and ill start out saying that this is just so unreal I still haven't accepted it n don't want to . As everyone knows you n Linda raised me til I was a young lady so therefore I was really close to the two of you. You will always be in my heart and memory pawpaw. I wish I could've told you that I love you dearly. Even though I didn't get to see you much, I enjoyed being around you and listening to all the hope you had in me. You're in a free world now where there is no pain and that is all that should matter.
