Ruby Dent
WILLIAMSON, W.Va. — Ruby Jean Dent, 78 of Williamson, passed away Sat., July 26, 2014, at the Pikeville Medical Center.
Born June 9, 1936, in Logan County, she was daughter of the late Floyd and Virginia Spaulding Fitch. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Lawrence Dent; a daughter, Marlene Stepp, and three brothers, Bill Fitch, Roy Fitch and Harrison Porter.
Ruby was a homemaker and a member of the Nolan Church of God Acts 20:28.
Survivors include her daughter, Darlene Cartwright of Williamson; son, Roger Gene Stepp of Hatfield, Ky.; brothers, Floyd Fitch Jr. of Lenore and Jack Fitch of Detroit, Mich.; sisters, Stella Marcum, Wendy Lynn Fitch and Tracie Rae Marcum, all of Williamson; grandchildren, Rebecca Chapman, Josh Johnson, Amanda Slone and Naomi "Jeanny" Stepp; four great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tues., July 29, at Nolan Church of God Acts 20:28 with Eugene Preece and Paul Ray Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Mountain View Memory Gardens at Maher with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday at the church with special services at 7 p.m.
