Frances Reeve Obituary

Frances I. Reeve, 88, of Middleborough died at her home on January 11, 2018, surrounded by family. She was born November 15, 1929, in Quincy, the eldest daughter of Frances and Dominic Tantillo. Fran was educated locally at Quincy High School and Boston University where she received a BA in English. While attending college, Fran worked in her fathers plumbing business. After graduation, she worked at the Institute of Living in Conn., then the American Red Cross. She later worked at the Brockton and Abington Post Offices until her retirement. It was at the Red Cross where Fran met her future husband Thomas Reeve who she married in April 1958. She was widowed in 1965 and raised 5 children single-handedly. She was an amazing woman with a wonderful extended family with whom she enjoyed spending time, cooking, singing and playing cards. She was loving and caring, always doing nice things for her friends and family. You never knew when she'd show up at your door with a smile and goodies. She loved Regis, Patsy Cline, Frank Sinatra, Frankie Valli and Tom Jones. Fran lived a full and long life. She was a beautiful diamond in the rough. She will be greatly missed and always remembered. Fran is survived by 3 daughters, Kimberly Stanbrook and husband Steve of Brockton, Karen Lewis and husband Russ of Lincoln, Kellie Lopez and husband Michael of East Bridgewater; 2 sons, David Reeve and wife Debbie of Middleborough and Stephen Reeve and wife Maura of Middleborough; 2 sisters, Janet Corbin and husband Jim of Weymouth, Rosemarie Gallo of Quincy; 7 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sisters, Nanette Jenkinson of Revere and Joanie Mathieson of Marston Mills. A celebration of Fran's life will be held on Sunday, January 28, 2018, in the ballroom at Oak Point in Middleborough, between the hours of 12- 4 p.m. Donations can be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

In my mind's eye, Fran was the original "ever ready bunny". She was so full of life an energy! My heart is sad for you, my dear friends, but I pray God's peace and love will hug you when you need it and remind you that you are never alone. Love you all!

She wasn't just my mother-in-law, she was my very good friend. Always willing to help with anything and everything. I will miss her surprise visits always loaded with snacks, coupons, and articles from the newspaper that she thought we would be interested in. I will miss her phone calls just to check in on us and fill us with some gossip, and I will miss our Tuesday lunches at local eateries. Most of all I will miss her beautiful smiling face and her exuberance for life. Wherever you are Fran, I hope "its pissa!" (one of her fav sayings) You will be sorely missed by all. Rest in eternal peace Mama.
Love you, Debbie xoxo
