I am very sorry to learn of John's passing---so many memories spent with him from our work experiences with LaVerdiere's to our road trips to Red Sox and Patriot games as well as spending time at his home in Gorham. Never a dull minute spent with John and as with life you meet certain people who stand out and you can call them a true friend and certainly John is one of them. I will miss you my friend and thank you for the many years of your friendship.

I worked with John for many years as his right hand woman. He was funny, warm, understanding, and oh so brilliant. My heart is heavy.

I was so sad to hear of my friend John's passing. I first met John in 1977 as I was assigned to replace him at a LaVerdieres pharmacy in Portland , Maine. It quickly became clear that you didn't replace John! His customers loved him because he just had way to connect with people. He always made it look so easy, but he was always there to help when you needed him. John became my mentor and friend and his support gave me my start in my career. For that, I will forever be grateful . As often happens in life, relationships grow apart , but my love for my friend John never went away. Rest in peace my friend.

I met John, when i had a toddler son and a husband diagnosed with Cancer. I cannot tell you how much stress that is. John knew. He was ever so kind to me. Its funny how what seems to be a small thing means so much to people. I would have my sons sleeping in the car, run in, throw the prescripion on the counter run back out to the car... he came out and said to me "your script is ready, i will sit with him while you pick it up and pay." i wanted to cry. Thank you John for your kindness to me through out the years and your advice through my husband cancer. I hope he is there to greet you in heaven. god speed.

Johnny was always a great presence and always knew how to let loose and have a good time. First time meeting was at the Pharmacy in gorham. Not knowing he lived across the street from my best friend where we always went to shoot pool!
