Barry J. Wong

Barry J. Wong, of Quincy, passed away September 11, 2017. Barry was born in Boston, moved to Weymouth in 1953 and then moved back to Quincy in 1994 where he has resided since. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy as a Seabee during WWII. He was a sheet metal fabricator for the MBTA, where he retired from. Barry was a member of the Local 17. He loved his family and especially his family reunions. Barry was quite the handyman and was a jack of all trades. He also was a car enthusiast. He will be sadly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Son to the late June and Shee Chin Wong. Dear husband of 57 years to the late Ann M. Wong (Chin). Loving father to Mary Stracuzzi and her husband Peter of Plymouth, Patricia Linden and her husband Stuart of Weymouth, and Barry M. Wong of Quincy. Brother to Rev. Hoover Wong and David Wong and the late Ruby Chin, Helen Eng, Laura Hom, Ruth Yee, Maime DeCoste, Hyman Wong, Peter Wong, George Wong, and Lily Chin. Grandfather to Jade, Tracey, Maryann, Stuart Jr., Adam, Harry and Curtis. Great-grandfather to Eliza, Reid, Lawson, Cole, Mason, Miles, Greta, Leo, Barry Healey and Clarke. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday 4 - 8 p.m. in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., Quincy. A celebration of life service will be held in the funeral home at 9:45 a.m. on Friday prior to the funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, Quincy at 10:30 a.m. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
