Charles Davis Obituary

Charles Gerard "Jerry" Davis of North Weymouth, passed away on Wednesday, January 13, 2021. Jerry was proudly born and raised in Southie. Beloved husband of 45 years to the late Mary T. Davis. Jerry loved life and lived each day with love and kindness in his heart. With a gift for gab and baby blues, he could captivate anyone's attention, earning him the nickname "Mayor of Web Park". He enjoyed meeting new people and sharing words of wisdom. Walking along the beach, reading newspapers, attending AA meetings, going to Church and eating good food were his favorite things to do. Jerry was most happy when surrounded by family and loved ones. He was a devoted Friend of Bill for over 30 years. Living life one day at a time, Jerry lived a meaningful, fulfilled life. Jerry is survived by his daughters, Renee Egan of Scituate, Michelle Wolf of Sandwich, Charlene Joyce and her husband Billy of Hingham and Jessica Huettner and her husband Kirk of La Quinta, California. Cherished Papa of Leah, Nicholas, Hilary, Rebecca, Bridget, Rose, Catherine, Mary and Reagan, and to his great grandsons Greyson and Myles. Caring brother of Sheila Way of Hingham. Also survived by a great number of extended family and friends. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Sunday, January 24, from 2-6 p.m. in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home, North Weymouth, at 40 Sea Street (off Route 3A - Bicknell Square). A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday in St. Jerome Church, Weymouth at 10:30 a.m. Burial in Fairmount Cemetery, Weymouth. In Lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Jerry may be made to the Gavin Foundation at www.gavinfoundation.org. Our sincere condolences to Jerry's family and friends. I saw Jerry from time to time at the park and at the post office and stopped for a chat or gave him the occasional ride home. While he could never quite place me, he always remembered my father-in-law, his long term neighbor on Prospect Hill, Willi Wiessmeyer, and never failed to inquire about the whole family. May he rest in peace.

Sincere condolences on the loss of Jerry. I've known him for quite a long time. Always loved to run into him and chat. Mary used to take care of one of my little ones about 20 years ago. May Jerry Rest in Peace.

Sad to hear the passing of Jerry. He's was always fun to talk with. Years back met up with him at the dog track and he got the first round. "Salty Dogs" was the drink of the day so we knocked a few out and then the next day I had a bad hang-over. Adding salt to a beverage isn't the best idea. Anyway, we all have our Jerry Davis stories and that was one of my favorites. RIP kid.
