Deborah Byrne Obituary

Deborah A. (Carey) Byrne, of Marshfield, formerly of Worcester, passed away on March 4, 2016 at the age of 58. She was the beloved wife of Timothy Byrne, and the loving mother of Jack Byrne of Watertown, Mass., Corrine Byrne of N.Y., N.Y., and Joseph Byrne, Alice Byrne, Edward Byrne, and Kathleen Byrne, all of Marshfield. She was the dear sister of Jack Carey of Poughkeepsie, N.Y., Robert Carey (Ann) of Winter Haven, Fla., Elizabeth Lamusta of Worcester, Patsy Berthiaume (Ralph) of Worcester, Christine Carey of Hingham, and the late Kathleen Carey. Deborah made her home in Marshfield for 46 years after moving from Worcester at age the age of 12. She graduated from Marshfield High School in 1976, received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Massachusetts College of Arts in 1982, and received her Masters Degree in Ministry at St. Johns Seminary in Brighton in 2014. Deborah worked as a freelance portrait and landscape artist as well as a teachers aid at the Martinson Elementary School, and she was a very active member of the Catholic church. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street (Rte 139), Marshfield. A funeral procession will begin at the funeral home Wednesday, March 9, at 9 a.m. for a 10 a.m. Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Assumption Church at 40 Canal Street in Marshfield. Interment will be in Couch Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Deborahs memory can be made to Habitat for Humanity, 20 Mathewson Drive, Weymouth MA 02189 or Cranberry Hospice, 36 Cordage Park Circle, Suite 326, Plymouth MA 02360 or by visiting their respective websites habitat.org or bidplymouth.org/cranberry.
