James Connor Obituary

James F. Connor, retired Weymouth Fire Chief, died December 29, 2018. He was 90. Chief Connor was born in Weymouth and lived in the town all of his life. He served in the Coast Guard in World War II and joined the Weymouth Fire Department in 1950, advancing through the ranks and retiring as Chief in January 1993 after 43 years of service to the town. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed traveling with his wife of 63 years, the late Anne E. (Meyer) Connor. Beloved father of Patricia C. Lenehan of Towson MD, V. Elizabeth DeNapoli of Newtown Square, PA, Annemarie C Demarkles of North Weymouth, and the late James F Connor, Jr. Proud grandfather of Patrick, Timothy, Maureen and Brian Lenehan, Allison Schill, Alanna Morris, Meghan Connor, DVM, Charles and Eileen Demarkles and great grandfather of Connor and Rose Morris, Mason Schill, Emiliya and Margaret Lenehan. Loving brother of John Connor of FL, Catherine Regan of IA, and Dorothy Rowe of Pembroke, and the late Margaret Conathan, Alice Malone and Donald Connor. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday 4-8 p.m. in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home at 40 Sea Street (off Route 3A - Bicknell Square) North Weymouth. Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. on Friday prior to the funeral Mass in St. Jerome Church, Weymouth at 10:30 a.m. Burial in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Weymouth. Chief Connor loved and served the Town of Weymouth. His family asks that you honor his memory and spirit with donations to the Weymouth Food Pantry, PO Box 890009, Weymouth, MA, 02189. Sir, I would just like to say thank you for your years of dedicated service and sacrifice for-firstvfor our Country when you served with the USCG and later for the citizens of Weymouth when you served with the WFD. And to your Family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.
