Joan O'Neill Obituary

Joan L. (Murphy) O'Neill, 65, of Norwell, passed away on June 29, 2018. Born June 20, 1953, in Boston, she was the daughter of the late George F. and Rita T. (Cadigan) Murphy. Joan was a graduate of Weymouth North High School. She was employed for many years at Light Control of Hanson. Joan also did stand up comedy and enjoyed making people smile. Joan is survived by her devoted husband, Thomas F. O'Neill. She was the sister of Linda A. DiRico and her husband Richard of Springfield, PA, Brian P. Murphy and his wife Sue of Abington, Rita M. Murphy of Canton, the late Paul E. Murphy and his surviving wife Joannie of Somersworth, NH. Joan leaves her aunt, Sister Mary Ivan Cadigan, C.S.J. of Framingham. She also leaves her adored nieces, Erin McKnight, Andrea DiRico, Laura Casale, all of PA, Tracey Malone of CA; as well as several great-nieces and nephews. Visiting hours in the Sullivan Funeral Home, 551 Washington St., Rte. 53, Hanover, on Thursday, July 5, from 4-7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Jerome's Church, 632 Bridge St., North Weymouth, on Friday at 10:30 a.m. Burial to follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery in West Roxbury.
