Maude Donovan Obituary

Maude E. (OConnor) Donovan of Canton, formerly of West Roxbury, died Nov. 24, 2012. Beloved wife of the late William J. Donovan, she was born in Brookline, daughter of the late Joseph P. and Mary M. (Bowlen) OConnor; devoted mother of Deborah Donovan of Foxboro, John Donovan and his wife Janet of Woonsocket, R.I., William J. Donovan Jr. of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Nancy Peffley and her husband Jack of Sarasota, Fla., Stephen Donovan and his wife Danielle of Hopkinton, Theresa Kushigian and her husband Donald of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Geralyn Ryan and her husband John of Canton; loving grandmother of Jeff, Chris, Jennifer, Brian and Courtney Mann; William and Stacey Driscoll; Nicole, Catherine and Liz Donovan; Sean and D.J. Kushigian; John and Rob Ryan and the late Michael Kushigian; cherished great-grandmother of 15 great-grandchildren; sister of the late Rev. Joseph P. OConnor O.S.A, William OConnor, Marie Beaton, Dorothy Veno and Robert OConnor. Also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews. He was co-founder and retired president of Donovan-Mayflower moving company. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours Friday, Nov. 30, from 3-8 p.m. at the P.E. Murray-George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 2000 Centre St., West Roxbury. Relatives and friends will gather at the funeral home Saturday, Dec. 1, at 9 a.m. and proceed to a funeral Mass in St. Theresa of Avila Church, West Roxbury, at 10 a.m. Interment in St. Josephs Cemetery, West Roxbury. Mrs. Donovan was the best dressed woman besides my Mum. She had a soft voice and a wonderful smile. I will remember her forever as the mother with an abundance of love. Thanks for the lasting memories.

Mrs. Donovan was a mother/woman whom I admired. She continued to stay active in her kids lives, hold down a family run shipping business, a family and herself. She accomplished this with tones of grace, class and smiles
