Richard J. Dolan

Richard J. Dolan, 71 years of age, of Bridgewater, entered life eternal at Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012. He was born in Quincy and had resided in Braintree for most of his life before moving to Bridgewater several years ago. He was a graduate of Braintree High School, Class of 1959. He served with the U.S. Marine Corps during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Richard was a carpenter and belonged to Carpenters Union Local 33 Boston. He was a football enthusiast. Richard was the son of the late Walter Timothy Dolan and Catherine Margaret (Hayden) Dolan. He was the husband of the late Janet E. (McIntosh) Dolan who died in 2002. He was the devoted father of Mark Richard Dolan married to Kimberly Dolan of Raynham and Matthew John Dolan married to Jennifer Dolan of Braintree. Richard was the loving brother of Kathleen Brunaccini of Bridgewater, Linda Griffin of Bridgewater and Arthur P. Dolan of Fairhaven. He was the brother of the late Edward J. Dolan, formerly of Braintree. He was the loving grandfather of John Matthew Dolan and Michael James Dolan both of Raynham and Matthew John Dolan Jr. of Braintree. Visiting hours will be at the Mortimer N. Peck-Russell Peck Funeral Home, 516 Washington St., Braintree, Thursday, Nov. 1, from 4-8 p.m. There will be a gathering at the funeral home Friday, Nov. 2, at 9:30 a.m. to be followed by a funeral Mass at the Church of St. Clare, 1244 Liberty St., Braintree Highlands, at 10:30 a.m. The Rev. Paul Sughrue will be the celebrant. Burial will follow at the Braintree Cemetery. Memorial donations may be sent to the Quincy Animal Shelter, 56 Broad St., Quincy, MA 02169.
