Sam Bastia

Sam Bastia, of Hingham 46, Managing Director/Executive Director Verizon, passed away Tuesday morning December 5, 2017 after a year long battle with cancer. Sam is a graduate of U Mass Amherst with dual degrees in Chemical and electrical engineering and later earned an MBA at Harvard University. For the past ten years Sam has been in charge of Global Strategy for Verizon. Active among young entrepreneurs following graduation Sam was a co-founder of several technology firms and was appointed to the Board of Directors of Mass Challenge by Gov. Deval Patrick and served for five years as Vice-President for Strategy and Corporate Development for Sun Microsystems. He is survived by his wife Korlynne and two children, Tyler, ten, and Addisyn, seven. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday, December 7, 2017 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Pyne Keohane Funeral home at 21 Emerald Street, (Off Central St.) Hingham. A funeral service will be held on Friday morning at 10 a.m. in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home followed by burial at St. Pauls Cemetery on Hersey Street, Hingham. See www.
