Stephen Warmington Obituary

Stephen H. Warmington, age 63, of Rockland died Aug. 14, 2012, after a long illness. He was the beloved son of Howard F. Warmington and the late Dawn ( Leadbetter) Warmington. He leaves his brother Wayne H. Warmington and wife Marianne of Hanson, his brother Barry L. Warmington and wife Mary Beth of Halifax. He was the brother of the late Debra R. DeCoste; he also leaves his step-mother Jean C. Warmington; a step-brother Mark Dyszczyk of Abington; a step-sister Debra Fields of Oklahoma. He leaves cousins David Morrow of Halifax, Diane LeBlanc of Quincy, Nancy Campbell of Missouri; and many nieces and nephews. Stephen was born in Quincy and lived a few years in Abington, before moving to Rockland in 1955. He graduated in the Rockland High School Class of 1967 and continued his studies at Massasoit Community College. Stephen was one of the founders of Warmington Furniture of Rockland that included his father Howard and his mother Dawn. Stephen joined the Naval Air Reserve during the Vietnam War and was called to active duty at the South Weymouth Naval Air Station and was very proud of his service on the aircraft carrier Forrestal. At the time of his discharge, he rejoined Warmington Furniture and continued on with his studies at Massasoit Community College, later he worked for Northeastern University for ten years. Stephen was a member of the DAV and the First Baptist Church of No. Abington. His favorite hobbies were fishing, camping, surfing, motorcycles and muscle cars. The Warmington family welcomes friends and loved ones to celebrate his life Friday, Aug. 17, 2012 from 5-8 p.m. at the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union St. in Rockland. A funeral service will be celebrated Saturday, Aug. 18, 2012 at 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home. My sincere sympathy to the entire Warmington family. I am sorry to learn of your loss. May the peace of Jesus Christ and the love of family and friends comfort you in the days ahead. I remember Steve well - we had many good times at BYF and other church activities when we were in junior high and high school.
