Billy was one of my oldest and dearest friends, I met him through Chip McDermott in 6th grade. He was always a bit of a joker, but still such a charmer. We had a lot of fun, and totally got into a wee bit of trouble back in those days, yes we did.
We kept in touch over the years, but the last time, was at my 50th B-day party, which just happened to be on his B-day, Jan 25,07, It was a total fluke that he had even gotten the invitation at all. I hadn't spoken to him in a long while, and he show's up out of the blue, and late, just like the old days. I was so thrilled to see him. We had a lot of laughs that night,thank-you God, I got to see him one more time.
I moved out of the area in 07, so I hadn't heard of his passing until today. I just happened to be looking for his phone number online, because I missed his 55th B-day,and I always use to kid with him on the milestone birthday's.
I've been missing him since that night, and I guess I always will
My sincere and deepest sympathys go out to his family, and to all of those, who knew, and loved him.
He was a special guy, who was there for me when ever I needed him, he truely was a friend. I love you Billy Wright, and say hello the Chip for me, as I know the two of you are together again.
Always a friend,

I worked with Billy at QPD and he was always a great guy and a lot of fun. Billy never missed a wake or funeral. He would meet my dad, a retired QPD officer, at the Marine Corp league and nobody would believe the funny stories my dad would come home with (except maybe Jimmy Silcox.) I am a police officer in Seattle these days so will not be able to make the service but Billy is someone I will never forget and I can tell you first hand from working in dispatch that he did a lot of great things for people down in the Charlie area and a lot of people down there loved his police style.

I meet Billy at the Marine Corps League years ago. He was very proud of his service in Vietnam as he should be. When my brother Bob died also a member of the MCL and a good friend of Billy, He was at his wake as chaplain. He was a great help. I write this with a tear in my eye for his family who he loved so much. Semper Fi, Alan McDonough BPD

To Billy's Family,
I went all through school with Billy, he was a great kid and later a wonderful man. Billy was a great friend and years later I was happy to run into him and see he had became a police officer. He alwas made us smile and always way back when I was picked on in school, he would walk me home so everyone would stay away. I will never forget my protector, and im sure he will be misssed greatly. I a mso sorry for the loss of your son, husband, father ,and friend. God Bless you Billy, my friend. Till we meet again.

To the entire Wright Family...please accept my sincere sympathy on the death of Billy. Billy worked with my husband, Spanky, and they were friends. I will never forget the night that Spanky died and the house filled with QPD...first among them was Billy. They filed into the bedroom where Spanky lay and Billy did a "service" for the QPD there, saying goodbye to their friend. No one else was in the room...it was a special moment and Billy was right there, leading it all. I am so very very sorry that I will not be able to be there with you to express my feelings in person, and to say good bye to Billy with the great respect that I feel for him. My thoughts and my prayers are with you all. Dot McTiernan
