Mildred Ann Waters
COLUMBUS, NC-- Mildred Ann Waters, 78, of Peak Street, Columbus, NC, died Thursday, May 19, 2011, in Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, Landrum, SC.
Born in Polk County, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Nola Waters McCraw. She was a cook at the Bantam Chef for approximately 23 years before retiring in 1999. She was a loving, caring mother, grandmother, sister, and friend and will be greatly missed.
Surviving are six sons, Ricky Waters of the home, Kenneth Waters (Freda) of Landrum, SC, Phillip Waters (Kathy) and Tim Waters, both of Columbus, NC, Steve Waters of Tryon, NC, and Ronald Waters of Landrum, SC; two daughters, Melinda Waters of Tryon, NC, and Jackie Waters of Landrum, SC. Also surviving are four brothers and two sisters, 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Denneth Waters, who died in 1992.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 21, 2011, in the McFarland Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jerry Jackson officiating.
Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens, Columbus, NC.
Family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. Saturday just prior to the service in the McFarland Funeral Chapel.
The family will be at the home, 585 South Peak Street, Columbus, NC 28722.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, 130 Forest Glen Drive, Columbus, NC 28722.
