Wallace Hocking Obituary
SPARTANBURG, SC-- Wallace 'Wally' Wade Hocking, 80, of Spartanburg, SC, died Sunday, August 14, 2016, at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born February 11, 1936, in Canton, OH, he was the son of the late Lewis Wayne and Alma Johnson Hocking.
A U. S. Navy veteran and golf course superintendent, Mr. Hocking was an avid golfer, loved NASCAR, and was a member of the Golf Course Superintendent's Association. He was of the Methodist faith.
Survivors include his wife Elizabeth 'Tootie' Ann Stephens Hocking; children, Bradley Hocking (Shelly) and Christine Ann Hocking, all of Chippewa Lake, OH, Gregory Wayne Addington (Tammy) of Spartanburg, SC, and Steve Addington (Katie) of China Grove, NC; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and sister, Doris Wise of Canton, OH.
Family services will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Gibbs Cancer Center, SRHS Foundation, 101 East Wood Street, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
