Kenneth Neal Obituary

Kenneth Ray Neal, 88, of Rockport passed away Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013. at his home.
Ray was born Dec. 7, 1924, to the late Walter and Mae (Harvey) Neal.
He was a 1943 graduate of Luce Township High School. Ray served in the Navy during World War II. He was a lifelong farmer. Ray was a school bus driver for Luce Township. He was a gas and oil inspector for the state, and retired in 1989.
Ray was a 50-year member of the Eureka Masonic Lodge 397, Scottish Rite and Order of the Eastern Star.  He served on the South Spencer High School Holding Corp., and served as Spencer County Republican chairman from 1964-66.
Ray was a member of the Richland Christian Church.
He enjoyed going to various churches in the community to sing gospel songs.
He was generous, caring, and enjoyed visiting with family and friends.
Ray is survived by his wife, Vivian King, whom he married June 18, 1946; his children, Mike Neal and his wife, Marsha, and Cindy Parsley and her husband, Reid, all of Rockport; his grandchildren, Craig Neal and his wife, Deon of Newburgh, Rachel Hooper and her husband, Justin of Evansville, Krista Evans of Richland and Jenna Parsley of Rockport; great-grandchildren Carson Evans, Kaylee Evans and Payton Neal; his siblings, Eugene Neal and his wife, Doretta of Rockport, Wayne "Dick" Neal and his wife, Judy of Leesburg, Fla., and Geneva Lloyd and her husband, Gene of Owensboro, Ky.; a sister-in-law, Betty Neal of Owensboro and special care givers, Sue Frobeter, Deloreus Wangler and Teresa White.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Mary Middleton, Juanita Lerch and Hobert Neal.
Services were conducted Wednesday, Feb. 27, at the Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport. The Revs. Carl Jones and Joe Greene officiated.
Burial was in Sunset Hill Cemetery in Rockport. The Rockport American Legion Post 254 conducted military honors.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Richland Christian Church and Baker's Creek Baptist Church.
