Donna Tarrant Obituary

Donna Dailey Tarrant, 65, of Louisville, formerly of Taylorsville and Frankfort, went to her heavenly home Wednesday, January 24, 2018, after a long courageous battle with cancer.

Mrs. Tarrant was born February 6, 1952, in Taylorsville, to Edward and Mildred Dailey. She was a member of Pigeon Fork Baptist Church in Waddy until moving to Louisville in 2015 where she then joined Highland Park First Baptist Church. Donna was a woman strong in her faith and while battling cancer wrote "Living While Dying with Irrational Joy" a book of hope for those living with a terminal or chronic illness.
She loved flowers, especially roses, gardening, traveling, working in the soil, and spending time with family and friends. Donna owned and operated Plants by Donna on their farm in Frankfort. She was a member of many clubs including the Capital City Garden Club of Frankfort, the Louisville Rose Society, Frankfort Rose Club and the Tenarky Club where she was formerly the district director. Donna and Lane owned and operated Tarrant Service Agency.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 34 years, R. Lane Tarrant; grandparents, Shelby and Virgie Dailey and Clarence and Willie Mae McDonald.

She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Brian Husband of Louisville; parents; brother, Eddie Dailey (Marsha) of Owensboro; sister, Mariellen Yates (Jim) of Louisville; nieces, Dee Carson of Louisville, Melanie Sieb (Drew) of Murray and Jennifer Huber (Doug) of Louisville; nephew, Kyle Dailey (Gina) of Owensboro and great nephews, Nathan and Ethan Dailey and Dylan McCallan.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Saturday at Schoppenhorst Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home, Mt. Washington (Hwy 44 east at Winning Colors Drive) with burial in Highland Memory Gardens. Friends paid their respects on Friday from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. and after 9 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.

The family would like to say a special thank you to Donna's Hosparus team who took wonderful care of her.
