Amber CALICOAT Obituary

In Loving Memory

May 1, 1982 - June 15, 2025

Clayton - With hearts full of sorrow and love, we share the passing of Amber Marie Calicoat, who left this world too soon on June 15, 2025, at the age of 43. Born on May 1, 1982, Amber grew up under the wide skies of Clayton, Washington, where she cultivated a spirit as bold and beautiful as the town that raised her.

Amber's heartbeat in rhythm with the people she loved and served. A graduate of Deer Park High School, Class of 2000, she began her journey through the art of hair and beauty and that's where Amber found her calling - attending Total Cosmetology School and working in salons across the area, helping people not only look their best, but feel it deep in their bones. She also spent time caring for others as a CNA.

In 2007, Amber's world found new purpose with the birth of her daughter, Tanessa. From that moment forward, she poured every ounce of her joy, creativity, and love into motherhood. She was the fun mom - the one who played, crafted, laughed, and made even ordinary days feel magical for not only her kid but all kids she encountered.

Amber's laughter filled rooms. Her one-of-a-kind personality touched lives. Her presence was a comfort, and her absence is an ache in the hearts of those who loved her.

She leaves behind her parents, Dee and Marsha Calicoat; her daughter and brightest light, Tanessa Calicoat; her sister, Amanda Calicoat; and a wide circle of family and friends who carry her memory like a flame.

Amber was welcomed home by those who went before her: her great-grandmother, Mary Mataya; her grandparents, Fred and Joan Mataya, Marvin Calicoat; and her dear aunt, Joyce George.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 6, at 2:00 p.m., at Clayton Community Church. A potluck Celebration of Life will follow at her parents' home: 4411 Williams Valley Road, where stories, laughter, and love will be shared in her honor.

Though she has left this earth, Amber's love lingers like perfume in the air - sweet, unforgettable, and deeply woven into the hearts she touched.

Grief can be so hard, but our special memories help us cope. Remembering you and your loved one today and always.

We weren't very close but i grew up living next to your parents for years and next to you.. but you told me one thing 2 years back as i was grieving my loss you said to me the strength I had to get sober was inspiring.. that meant a lot to me. You may be bossy but you really do have a heart and you will be missed by many.

Amber you were such a crazy soul. I can't believe your gone. You literally had a heart of gold and always were trying to do something for someone, sometimes even if they didn't want it lol. I have know u and the family since before I can remember. But what I do remember is u were there for
two special times in my life. My 8th grade graduation when u dolled me up as girlie as u could and I was not that kind of girl oh but u did anyways lol and man u made me feel so cute. Also my wedding day u went out of your way to come do my hair and makeup and make me feel absolutely gorgeous. These are only some things. You were such a stubborn woman but yet you always had the best intentions. You will be deeply missed by so many. I'm glad I've got to have the privilege to have you there for some special times for me. Rest in peace Amber. Love ya lady!

Amber you were such a bubbly person. Even when you were younger you were always the nicest person. You had the biggest heart. I will miss seeing you around deer park and you giving me the biggest hugs. I grew up with the calicoat families and I will be thinking about your family. May you rest in peace Amber. You were an amazing babysitter for my granddaughter when I was in need. You helped me out. I am forever gonna miss your beautiful smile and face...

Amber I'm going to miss the laughter you always brought even through tears which we could easily share....I want to express that her love for tenessa was clearly fierce and up front in all her intentions....tenessa was her world. Her heart was full of goodness and laughter. She comforted me her vibrant spirit full of care and humor. I will miss our visits and taking council with each other in times of challenge. She was a very supportive friend to me. I was blessed to know her. Tenessa and family there are no words to express.... I'm so sorry for your loss.

I did not know Amber, but I was on the same road that day that got detoured as I was on my way to Loon Lake and my heart breaks for all of those in her life. I am so very sorry that this happened and I just wanted to say although I am a complete stranger, my heart and prayers go out to all of her family and friends she left behind from this horrible accident. God Bless You All.

Amber, your radiant love and warmth touched countless lives, far more than you ever knew. The silence left by your absence echoes deeply, a testament to the immense impact of your beautiful soul. We find solace knowing you're now wrapped in the truth of how fiercely you were loved. May your gentle spirit rest in eternal peace, forever cherished and never forgotten. I love you and miss you endlessly, my dear friend.

It is thought to be a cruel world when a loved one passes before they should, a light extinguished before the path is traveled. We grieve, rage and demand a reason to justify why they were taken so cruelly. Leaving the ones that loved them to pick up the pieces to try to somehow fit them back together, only to realize it isn´t to be. The hole they leave never to be filled again. Yet in time trying to learn how to live without them there, gracing us with the light of their soul, the beauty of their smile, the sounds of their voice. Once vivid, but fading as the years continue on. Amber Calicoat always had open arms for anyone who needed a hug, open door for shelter, and an open heart for friendship and comfort. The world is a darker place without her, she is missed and won´t be forgotten. The close knit Clayton community will keep her memory alive for years to come. Find comfort in the friends and neighbors who knew her. As she deserves to be remembered.
