Ardella ELKINS Obituary
Ardella Noreen Kinman Elkins lived a happy and fulfilling life. She passed away at 92 years of age from natural causes. She was very much loved and will be truly missed.
She graduated High School from Potlatch, Idaho, then attended Kinman Business School in Spokane, WA. She worked for the Internal Revenue Service in Ogden, Utah, and worked for 10 years as a secretary for four New York Life Insurance agents in Spokane, WA.
Ardella was a member of DAUGHTERS of the NILE EL KARNAK TEMPLE NO. 6 and Orders of the EASTERN STAR BETHLEHAM CHAPTER OF DEER PARK, and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars. Past President of Wandermere Ladies 18 HOLE GOLF CLUB and volunteered at Shriners Children's Hospital Spokane, WA.
Ardella married Earl and their favorite pastime was golfing and traveling with friends. She was a very special lady who did so many amazing things throughout her life. A great cook preparing meals, baking desserts, and canned so many jars of food. She loved animals, especially birds, and had a special talking parakeet named "Tobey". As a young girl, she took care of an abandoned baby squirrel and a baby lynx cat for years. She had a very artistic side creating beautiful oil paintings! She enjoyed various crafts including cross stitch, embroidery, crochet, and quilting, and was also a very talented seamstress, sewing clothes for her family and friends. She made special dresses for her events and her granddaughter's wedding dress with hand-beaded designs! She also made many Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls! She kept her mind active with crossword puzzles and could talk for hours about her past. Ardella was an inspiration and most of all she loved her family, getting together often, and loved staying in contact with past friends. She shared a special bond with her loving sister Doris who spent several weeks each summer visiting. We all loved Ardella and will always carry her memory in our hearts.
Ardella was preceded in death by her husband Earl. She was also preceded in death by her brother and both parents. She is survived by her two sons; Dick (Daphne) and Mike (Sheila). Two grandchildren Zach and Jake (Nicole), and three great-grandchildren. Her sister Doris, plus numerous nieces and nephews.
