Arlie ROBINSON Obituary

September 5, 1948 - September 22, 2024

Spokane - Surrounded by her family, Arlie Robinson passed away from this life and moved into her new residence in heaven with our Lord. Arlie was born to Harold and Vera Reyerson. She is survived by her older brother, Larry Reyerson of Dayton, WA, and was preceded in death by her older sister, Anita Reyerson-Nelson of Pasco, WA. She is survived by her two daughters, Kari Caruso and Angie Elison; two sons-in-law, Pete Caruso and Joe Elison; two stepchildren, Christina and Bill Robinson; seven grandchildren, Megan, Sydney, Benjamin, Silas, Noelle, Jillian, and Eli; and one great-grandchild, Ryder.

Arlie was raised in a Christian home and as a child went to Beacon Chapel in Hillyard, where at the age of 16, she surrendered her life to the Lord and became a born-again Christian. She went to Rogers High School and graduated in 1966. Arlie was blessed with her first child, Kari, in December of 1968, and her second daughter, Angie, in August of 1973. Around 1978, Arlie started working full-time at Hollister-Stier pharmaceutical company in Spokane, WA. She started there as a receptionist and worked her way up to Human Resources Manager. In 2011, after 33 years of service, she retired.

One of her biggest accomplishments in 1990, was to serve on the steering committee for Crisis Pregnancy Center of Spokane (now Life Services). While serving as Co Board Chair, she procured seed money and hired their first director, Paula Cullen. With God's blessing and provision these humble beginnings have grown into one of the finest and state of the art Pregnancy help centers in the country, fully equipped with a medical clinic, maternity home, emotional and hands on support for women in crisis and an endless amount of positive resources for women and families in need all free of charge. Over the past 33 years, they have served literally tens of thousands of women and children in need all free of charge with private funding.

Arlie was a member of Indian Trail Community Church. As many of us know, she loved the Lord and had a passion for sharing the great news of the gospel with many people. While we are grieving her loss, we are so thankful to have had many additional years to spend with her after she faced several close calls due to lifelong diabetes, congenital heart failure, and a stroke. We look forward to meeting her in paradise with our Lord. We love you mama!

Dear Angie: What lovely tributes to your beloved Mother. These and other memories and comments posted elsewhere along with her obituary makes me feel as if I have known her all along. Turns out there is a small world connection as I learned that your Mom and my brother were in the same class at Rogers High School (1966.) They were sophomores when I was a senior. Little did I know then that she would later be your Mom and I would be Renee's Mom and the two of you would meet and become such special friends. That is a blessing from the Lord for sure. Arlie's faith in the Lord Jesus was so evident in all she did and in all who crossed paths with her - not to mention her example lived out so sweetly in you, Angie, and in Kari. Much love to you and your families and continued prayers for God's comfort as we look forward to that day of "Oh Glad Reunion" !!

Arlie hired me at Hollister-Stier back when I was a young kid just trying to find my way. Several years later she gave me a chance and hired me into what would become my career and profession. I had the privilege to be able to call her my friend, co-worker, and boss for 29 years. Words cannot describe the blessing she has been to my family and I, she will be missed but never forgotten. My condolences go out to the entire family. Rest in Peace kind lady.

Arlie and I were hired at Hollister-Stier within about a year of one another in the late 1970s, so had an ongoing co-worker/friend relationship for a lot of years. I always admired her personable graciousness and faith. At one point, we shared an after-work Bible-study with a number of other employees. It was a great time to get to know other employees on a more personal level, and I always enjoyed Arlie´s willingness to share her personal feelings about her life and faith. I have no doubt that she´s with her Lord.

I met Arlie when I started working at Hollister-Stier. I was new to the area and she became a great friend. I spent lots of time at her house with Angie and Kari. We laughed SO much. Their house became like a second home. I remember taking aerobic classes together. The hardest thing was when I moved away to get married. Left part of my heart with them.

I met Arlie when I went to work at Hollister-Stier. At that time she was the receptionist and would page people to "answer to phone". Sometimes she would "goof up" and we would laugh. Arlie was a bright light and a kind person always willing to talk with you. She will be missed . My heartfelt condolences to her family and friends. She is now at peace in Heaven
