Barbara BITTNER Obituary
Our dear mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, Barbara Jean Bittner, passed away peacefully on March 1st, 2024. A remarkable woman, wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. Affectionately known as "Momma B"/"Gramma B," she exemplified warmth and generosity treating all as cherished members of her family. Whether cheering on her children, whom she loved fiercely and standing up for what she believed in, she faced life's challenges with unparalleled tenacity. Her presence lit up the room, infusing every moment with her spirited humor.
Barbara's legacy extends far; a "mom legend" in the East Valley community and she poured her heart into her dogs, (breeding and showing them) and has a wide network of friends in the dog community. She loved scouring garage sales, chasing sirens with friends and crafting.
Barbara was born in Spokane, WA, February 15th, 1936, to Helen Jean Mortlock and Emmett Joseph McCadam. She is survived by: James Bittner her husband of 61 years; siblings Ed (Sharon), Diana, Debbie, and children Don (Nancy), David (Pam), Jimmy (Shannon), Jodi (David), Jill (Terry), and John; 20 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-granddaughter. She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings Larry and Ron, and son Douglas.
One of a kind and irreplaceable.
A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, March 8th, at 1:00pm, Redeemer Lutheran Church, 3606 Schafer Rd., Spokane Valley, WA 99206
