Benjamin CORIGLIANO Obituary

May 18, 1940 – July 22, 2025

Ben Corigliano, age 85, a beloved husband, dad, grandpa and great-grandpa unexpectedly passed away on July 22, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Spokane, WA, on May 18, 1940, to Angelo and MaryEllen Corigliano. He graduated from North Central High School in 1958 where he played football. Ben married the love of his life, Gail Marie White, on October 4, 1961. They settled in Greenacres, where they raised three kids on a 40-acre farm raising hay, cows and horses.

Ben proudly worked at the family business, White Block Company, for 40 years before retiring in 2000. His dedication and work ethic were a true reflection of his love and commitment to his family. He was the most positive example of what is right, a Godly man and the rock of our family. He exemplified the definition of integrity and character. Ben had a gentle, kind, soft spoken spirit. Ben lived a life dedicated to our Lord Jesus Christ by being active in his church and serving as a member of Gideon's International since December 1985. He would share the love of Christ with everyone he met. In his early years, he enjoyed hobbies of bowling, square dancing, hunting and fishing. After retirement, he became an avid Zags fan and picked up a love of golf, playing many rounds with family and friends. Many memories were made with trips to Israel, cruises, and road trips in their motor home. His favorites were vacationing in Hawaii, spending winters in Arizona, and summers at Priest Lake, Idaho. Ben was a true family man who never missed an opportunity to gather with all 32 of his "La Famiglia." He especially enjoyed supporting his grandchildren and great-grandchildren's activities.

After the Lord, the greatest love in life was his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Gail of nearly 65 years; sons, Bruce (Sherry), Gary (Lori); daughter, Sherri Kiehn (Jim); seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Linda; brothers, Bill (Dixie) and John (Chris); and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, August 9, 2025, 10:00 am, at Mirabeau Park Hotel, 1100 N. Sullivan Rd., Spokane Valley. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Gideon's International.

To "La Famiglia Corigliano" - Gail, Bruce, Gary, Sherry, grandchildren, great grandchildren - Ben was much more than a friend; I looked to him like a father. He was kind, generous, humble, soft-spoken, quietly strong, God-fearing, and an example of what I believe a Christian man should be. I miss him. But our loss is Heaven's gain. Praise God, and thank You Father for the gift of having known Ben and being able to call him my dear friend.
