Casey HINES Obituary
February 28, 1988 – June 2, 2025
Casey Dee Hines, 37, passed away unexpectedly from cardiac arrest on June 2, 2025, at her home in Issaquah, Washington.
Born as Molly Link on the Southside of Chicago, Casey was adopted by Karen and Tillman Williams-Carr and became the youngest daughter in a family that would surround her with love, pride in herself, and character. Karen and Tillman renamed her Casey Dee-a name that perfectly fit her vibrant, unforgettable spirit. From that moment forward, she lived boldly and loved deeply.
Casey grew up in Cheney, Washington, where she attended Cheney High School and cheered with her signature energy and confidence. A natural beauty with effortless style, she was the kind of person whose laugh you remembered and whose presence you felt long after she left the room.
Casey lived several lifetimes, Cheney, Spokane, England, and finally Seattle. She made it a point to push herself and those lucky enough to be in her orbit to experience new things and say "yes" every day.
Casey's dry wit, thoughtful intelligence, and genuine care for others made everyone around her better. She had high standards for everyone in her life and was never afraid to push everyone to be the best version of themselves.
She earned an associate's degree in interior design and quietly began working for an interior design firm in Seattle. Casey had an impeccable eye for design, fashion, and presentation. Her drive, ambition, and attention to detail were immediately recognized by those lucky enough to have her as an employee and manager. Whether it was at home, a celebration, or just a Tuesday morning, Casey knew how to elevate everything. She was regularly approached by house guests and party attendees to give design guidance, plan a party, or do a balloon arch. She would never accept a fee and only did it for the people she loved. The lucky ones.
Her greatest joy and purpose in life were her sons, Frederick William Hines IV and Lawrence Tillman Hines. She instilled her love, kindness, and joy for life in their hearts every day. A book could be written on her natural skills and instincts as a mother. She always knew when her sons needed, affection, direction, and/or a firm hand. Together with her husband, Frederick William Hines III, she built a life full of love, meaning, and sunshine-filled trips to Palm Springs-one of her favorite escapes. Casey wanted to travel the world with her family and give them the joys of camping, great food, and simply playing at the beach. She fought to create a community surrounding her family. She had a clear intentional vision of a family life filled with play dates, sleepovers, family and friend trips, and connection.
Casey thrived in any environment. She was as comfortable at a dive bar in Spokane or a formal company Christmas Party at Salish Lodge. She supported women, the black community, and the marginalized throughout her life. Always speaking up against injustice.
Casey is survived by her husband, Frederick William Hines III; sons, Frederick William Hines IV and Lawrence Tillman Hines; her parents, Karen Williams-Carr and Tillman Carr; and her brothers, Jeremiah and Micah Williams-Carr. She was preceded in death by her sister, Timi Allison Williams-Carr.
Casey's soul came alive through her deep friendships, her love of travel, and her joy in music. She cherished time spent with friends, whether it was a quiet night in or dancing under the stars at concert festivals. Her energy, style, and spirit made every gathering better.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Flintoff's Beach, 4445 E. Lake Sammamish Pkwy. SE, Issaquah, WA 98029. A viewing for family and friends will take place on Friday, June 13, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Flintoff's Funeral Home, 540 E. Sunset Way, Issaquah, WA 98027.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Families of Color Seattle (FOCS), a cause close to Casey's heart.
Casey lived with fierce love, unmatched style, and a spark that made life brighter for everyone lucky enough to know her. Her legacy lives on in her boys, her family, and the countless friends she made along the way.
Casey's physical form is no longer with us. Now she is in our hearts and our memories. We love you, Casey and always will. The community she has built around her family will support them for the rest of their lives.
