Clayton KLIPPERT Obituary

Clayton Klippert passed away peacefully on April 3, 2024, at the age of 86. He was an amazing husband, dad, papa, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. His kindness, love of family, and love of God touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Clayton was born on April 28, 1937, to John and Martha Klippert in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. As a young boy, his family moved from Scottsbluff to Sunnyside, WA. He grew up in a large and loving family. When he was in grade school, he met a young girl named Geraldine (Gerry) Kearney. They dated all through school and married on December 24, 1957, and had a beautiful 60-year marriage until her passing. He retired from the Air Force after serving for 20 years and then he and Gerry ran their own business. They were truly best friends and nearly inseparable. Anyone who knew them could see the love they shared for each other and their family. He would even join the lady's society at church to make pies and quilts just to spend more time with her.

Clayton had a love of fishing, camping, gardening, playing games, and most of all spending time with the family, so much so that they moved to Spokane in 1997 to be closer to them. In the last years of his life he was an ardent Wii bowler at the Southside Community Senior Center where he holds the record for the most 300-point games, per one of his friends nobody will ever surpass him. For the past 3 years of his life he lived at Harvard Park Senior Living and made many friends with the residents and staff.
