Vancouver - Colin Chandler Triber (born Colin Chandler Curl) passed away on November 25, 2024, in Ridgefield, Washington, at the age of 29. He was born on May 9, 1995, in Missouri City, Texas.
Colin cherished his family above all else, finding his greatest joy in the time he spent with them. He often said that his wedding day and the day his daughter was born were the very best days of his life. He loved sharing meals with those he cared about, playing video games, and spending time at the shooting range. On beautiful days, he and his wife could be found riding their motorcycle, enjoying the open road together. He also had a fondness for a well-made margarita.
Colin was passionate about his career in law enforcement, embracing his role as a protector with unwavering dedication. He found deep purpose in serving his community, always striving to make a difference. Known for his quick wit and dark sense of humor, he had a knack for making people laugh-he even kept a running list of jokes on his phone. Colin was someone others leaned on in difficult times, a source of strength and comfort to many.
A proud U.S. Marine veteran, Colin enlisted in 2013 and served until 2018. During his military career, he worked as a CH-53E helicopter crew member and instructor, logging over 1,000 flight hours. He earned multiple service medals and qualifications, including sharpshooter and expert pistol distinctions. In 2024, Colin fulfilled his lifelong dream of becoming a police officer, graduating from the academy with honors in marksmanship.
Colin is survived by his loving wife, Sydney Triber; their beloved daughter, Rylan Triber; his mother, Jeannetta Smith; his father, Michael Curl; his sister, Kelli Curl; and his brother, Robert Stone Curl.
