Curtis WILSON Obituary

Curtis Mallese Wilson Jr. departed this life to enter the great hunting and fishing reserve in the sky on Saturday, September 7, 2022, under the care of Kindred Hospice. He went peacefully in his sleep. Curtis was 80 years old.  Curtis was the first Black ADOS Care Salesman in Spokane. He later worked for Kaiser Aluminum in the Mead Plant and the Trentwood Plant. Curtis then worked as a Sales Representative for the Washington State Lottery Commision. He retired from the Lottery Comission after 24 years due to health reasons.  Curtis was born and raised in Struthers/Youngstown, Ohio, and relocated to Spokane, Washington in July of 1973. He loved to hunt and fish. Curtis had a Demarcating business; made a financially successful barbeque sauce, Brother Curtis, and won numerous ribbons at the Spokane Fair for his tasty and intoxicating wines. He loved gardening. Curtis loved the outdoors and received a plaque for having a bird sanctuary in his back yard. He served in the Air Force and was a disabled veteran.  Curtis was born to Curtis Mallese Wilson Sr. and RN Stevana Lenore Coleman Wilson, who preceded him in death along with his sister, Phyllis Wilson Hilson.  Curtis is survived by his wife of 47 years Madelynn C. Lacy Wilson, his six daughters, Bonnie D. Hockaday, Sheryl A. Wilson Major (Frank), Stevana L. Wilson Tensley (Victor), Crystal L. Wilson, Amara L. Wilson Mwanga (Fidel), and Meaurie R. Wilson White (Scott) his Aunt Odessa Coleman Smith, his cousin Gwendolyn Patterson, and her son Terry Gamble, his nephew Raushaun Hilson nine grandsons, one granddaughter, eleven great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.  In lieu of flowers and donations please donate to Alzheimers and Dementia Research or American Diabetic Research. The Wilson family would like to thank all of the adult homes, caregivers, and VA who helped take care of Curtis.  A memorial service will be held at a later date.
