Darla BAGLEY Obituary
December 11, 1935 - August 23, 2025
Nine Mile Falls - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Darla J. Bagley, on August 23, 2025. She passed in her home surrounded by family.
She was born to Agnes and Lawrence Lee on December 11, 1935, in Lewiston, ID. She welcomed her baby sister, Carolyn, a few years later. The family moved to Spokane during her childhood, and she graduated from North Central High School.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, and her grandson, Matthew Monroe.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Gordon N. Bagley in 2004. Together, they ran a successful business in Spokane, CDA and the Tri Cities, Decorator's Service/Drapery Mart, for over 40 years. They also enjoyed raising their blended family on a small farm in the Garden Springs area just south of Spokane. On the farm, they owned and raised thoroughbred racehorses that they primarily ran at Longacres and Playfair. They loved to travel and hosted the best parties around. Mom was frequently referred to as "the hostess with the mostest." She was a huge Seattle Seahawks fan, and they had season tickets for the first five years.
Our home was a favorite among our childhood friends. Although just our normal, they saw it as always busy, inviting and fun.
Mom was a talented Interior Designer, seamstress, cook, party planner, doll maker, and all-around crafter. She loved color and bling. She was never too busy to offer decorating advice, alter a wedding dress, hem a pair of pants, or patch a favorite pair of jeans.
Mom loved her family with all her heart.
She is survived and missed by her children and stepchildren: Mardelle Kendall, Jan Lazares, Kim Monroe, Gordon Bagley Jr., Julee McCully (Steve), Tyann Parent, Conrad Bagley, Stacey Garcia (JL), Paige Leipham (Leo Sullivan), and Cass Bagley; nephews: Russell Blackwell (Teresa), and Greg Blackwell (Angela); 18 grandchildren; and numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren. And her sweet Miss Lily. She provided her such joy and companionship.
Although we are saddened by our loss, we are grateful to have so many wonderful memories and know she is at peace.
A graveside service is planned Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at 2:30 pm, at Spokane Memorial Gardens, 5909 Cheney Spokane Rd.
There will be an opportunity to share memories and enjoy a meal immediately following at the McCully's home, just a few minutes away. If you knew and loved her too, we would love to have you join us.
