David GILLESPIE Obituary

David W. Gillespie, 91, of Spokane, Washington, passed away on August 25, 2025. He was born on June 12, 1934, in Hackensack, New Jersey. A decorated Air Force Veteran, David served as a Captain and pilot, flying B-52s and KC-135s during the Cold War. He retired from Fairchild Air Force Base in 1976.

David was a skilled woodworker and enjoyed gardening, hunting, and fishing. He was a member of the Freemasons, the Blue Lodge, Scottish Rite, and the Grotto. He was also an active member of his church.

David is survived by his wife, Cheryl; his two children, Linda Christian and David Lawrence; and his grandchildren, Andy, Daniel, Emily, Katie, and Elizabeth. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Kathryn Gillespie (1936-1998); and his sister, Jacqueline Lewis.

Memorial Services are to be held September 5, 2025, at 1:00pm, at First Presbyterian Church in Spokane, WA.
