David MORGAN Obituary

MORGAN,
Dr. David Granville
(Age 71)

After a four-year battle with cancer, Dr. David Morgan passed away in his South Hill home on June 28th, surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife, Christine McBeth Morgan; children, Dr. Emily Morgan, Fletcher Morgan, Ann Morgan, Michael Morgan and Elizabeth Morgan. He is also survived by his stepchildren, Jennifer Hall, Elizabeth Thompson, Claire Mark and Joel Ryman; his grandchildren, Baxter, Edie, Oliver, Jane, Callan, Harlowe and Will; and his brother, Daniel Morgan of Dallas, TX.
Born and raised in Kilgore, TX, Dr. Morgan graduated from the University of Texas, Austin and University of Texas Health Science Center, San Antonio. He began a solo pediatric practice in Spokane, WA in 1981, which continued to flourish and serve the community for 37 years. He retired in December of 2017. He is a member of Colbert Presbyterian Church and was a founding member of Christ The King Anglican Church, Spokane. As a mountaineer and adventurer, Priest Lake, ID was his happiest place to engage with his family and nature. His love for the outdoors was only preceded by the love for his family and faith.
A memorial service will be held at Colbert Presbyterian Church on Saturday, July 28th at 11am. In lieu of flowers, he requests individuals make a donation to his favorite charities: The Union Gospel Mission and SpokAnimal. Dr. Morgan comes up in many conversations over the years in my family and he retired not that long ago and I was curious how he was doing only to find this. He was SO dedicated to his patients. He was my pediatrician as soon as my family moved to Spokane in 1984 and he helped me through so many difficult times and was very very good at what he did. We were very blessed that he was also the pediatrician for my 3 daughters up until the day he retired in 2017. This makes me so incredibly sad. Over the years of knowing him as his patient and my kids' doctor, he was a very caring human being and I respected him greatly. I am so sad that I didn't know about this until just now. What an honor it was to know him throughout my lifetime. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and those that were close to him.

Dr. Morgan was my pediatrician. Although I don't remember much about him, because I was very young, I do remember Dr. Morgan as a kind and caring man. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

Dr. Morgan was an outstanding doctor and person. He saw our three children through some challenging medical times. He was always kind, calm, and made himself available to help navigate illnesses. He shared his life as a parent and it was apparent how much he loved his family. We were shocked by the news that he had passed. He will be sorely missed. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of his family members. The Hughey's

I cannot believe he is gone. Treating, caring, and loving his patients all these years...I am speechless. To his family: Your husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and yes, even his former wife, please know my family credits him and his amazing practice with saving our then 6 month old son who had meningitis. We credit him with helping in the diagnosis Celiac disease in our daughter; the times we called after hours (once on his anniversary) to walk us through a high temp in our toddler. We are so grateful. But the thing is, he did this for ALL of us. Scared, first time moms, single dads, multiple generations, foster parents, etc.; he treated all of us with kindness, respect, and dignity, and expected his employees to do the same. I'm sorry I missed his service. How I wanted to be there to tell you this in person. Dr. Morgan was one in a million. We will continue to pray for you all during this time of grieving and healing. Peace to you all.

Dr.Morgan was a great Pediatrician and a very caring man. He helped me through a very rough time with my first child that was born 5 weeks early. He is the only Pediatrician I have known to take his own after hours calls as well. God Bless you Dr. Morgan

We were very sad when Dr Morgan retired in January. He was such a kind, compassionate, and wise doctor. But it was so much sadder to learn that he passed away. We never even knew he was sick - he was always at good spirit and hard working to the end. He was such a wonderful, old fashioned doctor. He even gave us his private phone number in case we ever needed it, and we called him on a Christmas Day when our 2 year old daughter's elbow came out of its socket and he guided us through how to reset it. He was a man of faith and always encouraging. He once gave me a prescription for 2 different meds for our special needs child leading up to a weekend. One was to use immediately, the other in case he developed a different symptom from the illness. I used the wrong one.. But my son got better and instead of making me feel bad Dr. Morgan insisted God had guided me. We were so blessed to have him as our doctor as long as we did. It's a great loss and my heart goes out to his wife, children, and grandchildren. God bless!

My heart and prayers go out to your beautiful family and friends. I was a RN at Deaconess so I knew him as a kind and caring Dr. I also had the privilege of being the delivery RN when they had a baby.
He was a gentleman's gentleman When he came on the unit it was always with a smile. I loved watching him examine the precious newborn babies. He'd talk to them and interact just like they were big people who could talk back When he was done with a exam he always wrapped the baby back up and gave them a little love pat. He truly was the right person doing the right job. You will be very missed I very much admired the person you were. You led a quality life and blessed many and whatever you did it was with love.

Dr. Morgan holds a special place in my familys heart. We spent a lot of time in his office with my daughter. We only left the practice because my kids were too old. He was always caring and so reassuring. I was completely shocked to hear of his passing, heartbroken. Spokane lost an incredible doctor and a wonderful man. May he rest in peace. God bless.

RIP Dr. Morgan
This was my children's pediatrician. I got to know him very well, we began seeing him with my oldest son Jesse when he was just 6 months old and Dr. Morgan was just starting up his practice. He guided us through some very difficult situations and was always compassionate. What a great doctor and a man too, I have no doubt that he resides in God's Eternal Light, bathed in the Peace of Christ.
