NORDSTROM, David "Dave"
It is with broken hearts that we share the loss of David on June 15, 2018. He was born December 6, 1955 in Lincoln, Nebraska to Paul Richard Nordstrom and Mariann (Nordstrom) Hogin. They soon moved to Spokane where he grew up. David had many life-long friends that he still kept close to his heart. At an early age, he began to play music in his backyard. Not only did music become his passion, but also his profession and he made a huge impact on the music scene in the Northwest. He traveled the world with his music, making so many friends and admirers. He truly was a gifted bass player, singer and songwriter. He always wanted to be true to his music, never wanting to compromise. Dave was married to his wife Tina for nearly 35 years, which he joked that is was like 135 in musician years. They shared great memories and two sons, Henry and Hayden, whom he loved more than words can say. He cherished the time he spent with his family. He was a great dad, never complaining about diaper changes and staying up with them when they were sick. He loved all of the field and camping trips, time spent at Priest Lake and the backyard BBQs. He also gained his beautiful daughter-in-law Sydney whom he adored. He lost a piece of his heart when he lost his son Hayden. He will be deeply missed by Tina, Henry and Sydney and also by his family members, Paul (Debbie) Nordstrom, Lee Nordstrom, Glen (Jean) Hogin, Jim (Linda) Hogin, Ross (Heather) Hogin, Emma Long, Reny (Lanny) Archer, Richard (Sherri) Long, Peggy (Charlie) Hodge, many nieces and nephews, dear friends and the music community.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 30th at 11 AM at the Turning Point Open Bible Church, 11911 N. Division. Memories and condolences may be shared on his tribute page at www.hennesseyfuneralhomes.com.

I learned how to play "96 tears" on the piano at his house back in grade school. Besides chopsticks, it is the only piece I still know how to play. Last time I saw Dave was at Hayden's post-funeral event. So sad ...

Hardly a day has passed since hearing of your own passing that I haven't thought of you, Dave. One of the best friends a tag-along like me could ever have. Comforted by the knowledge that you'd found our savior Jesus Christ during your all too shortened life. Thanks for being a great guy and really good friend!

We are broken-hearted for you and we are broken hearted for ourselves and for the entire community that loved Dave. He was a wonderful person. An amazing friend and bandmate. Jay and Derek both have so much to say about being music friends with him. He was a great bass player.
Due to a family event in Tonasket, we will be unable to attend his memorial but please know that we are there with you in spirit and offer any support in the future that we might give. Our thoughts and prayers....❤
