Dee SCOTT Obituary

Dee Scott passed away December 30th, 2024. Born in Spokane, Washington, June 21st, 1939, to Ralph and Doris Scott, Dee was a high energy child. Dee graduated from Rogers High School class of 1958, where he was an accomplished athlete who played football, basketball, and was particularly quick in track and field. Dee held a state record in the 880 for many years. Later, he coached and played softball in the Spokane area, where he played in the national tournament, an effort that eventually led to his being inducted into the Spokane softball hall of fame.

Dee married his high school sweetheart, Janet Blain, in 1960 and was married for 64 years. He is survived by his wife Janet; their son, Todd Scott and wife, Anneliese Keifer; his sister, Kathleen Crisp (he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Larry Crisp); brother-in-law, Dick Blain and wife, Susan; as well as four nieces, Sandy Hunt, Sheri and Rodger Perry, Heather and Brady Brown and Cindy and Pat Baker.

Dee and family enjoyed many years at a cabin at Sacheen Lake year-round. There were many hours spent boating, snowmobiling, hunting, and hanging out in the shade while the kids played in the sun. A loving husband and family man, Dee always made time for and supported family activities and gatherings.

Professionally, Dee started out as a maintenance technician for the Bon Marche where he learned many skills and became a jack of all trades. Later, he had a long career in sales working for ITT Grinnell, Haskins Steel, and Banner Fuel, before retiring in 2002.

Visitation will be held from 12pm-6pm on both Thursday, January 23rd, and Friday, January 24th, at Riplinger Funeral Home, 4305 N. Division St., Spokane, WA.

A Funeral Service with reception will be held at 1pm on Saturday, January 25th in the Mausoleum Chapel at Fairmount Memorial Park, 5200 W. Wellesley Ave.
