Diane CAPPELLANO Obituary

On August 3, our beloved mother, Diane Cappellano, went home to be with our Lord at the age of 88. She passed away peacefully due to complications from end-stage renal disease. Diane was surrounded by family and friends in her final days and was deeply loved and cherished by all who knew her.

Diane was born in Spokane, Washington, at St. Luke's Hospital on March 14, 1937. She graduated from North Central High School in 1955. In early 1956, she met the love of her life, John Cappellano, at the Spokane USO Club. They married in October of that same year and built a beautiful life together in Spokane, raising six children-four boys and two girls.

Diane was grateful to be a stay-at-home mother while raising her children, a role she embraced with joy and devotion. Later in life, she worked for 18 years at Riverview Lutheran Retirement Community, first as a Care Aide and later as a Rehabilitation Aide.

She will be remembered for her kind and gentle nature, her warm and loving spirit, and her unwavering dedication to her family and friends. Diane was a devout Catholic and a faithful member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church for 47 years. She loved attending Mass, reading, swimming, baking (especially her delicious pies), enjoying nature and animals, and most of all, spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. For many years, she hosted Sunday dinners in her home, bringing the whole family together with love and laughter.

Diane was preceded in death by her husband, John Cappellano Sr.; her parents, Daniel and Verna Krell; her brothers, Jack and Delbert; and her daughter-in-law, Shari Cappellano. She is survived by her children: John Jr., Theresa, Michael, Stephen (and his wife, Lori), Rebecca, and Mark; her 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She will be missed beyond words by all who had the honor of knowing and loving her.

Celebration of Life at a later date.
