Donald FRICK Obituary
Passed away peacefully on May 17, 2022 in Moses Lake, WA; Don was born April 16, 1929 in Moody, WA to Frederick and Bernardines Frick. He attended school in Marlin and graduated from WSC (now WSU) with an Electrical Engineering Degree. He married Effie King on October 2,1949 and they raised their four children Jim, Tom, Marilee and Charlene on the farm in the Marlin/Ruff area. Don and Effie later moved into their home in Odessa. Effie passed away in 2010. Donald later met Dorene Gordon and they married on April 20, 2013 and made their home in Ephrata. Don and Dorene were very active in the church in Ephrata. Don was a former member of the Salem Lutheran Church in Marlin, Cannawai Grange, W.A.W.G., and a member of the Community Church of Ephrata. Don is survived by his wife Dorene, three children Tom Frick, Marilee (Vern) Griffith, Charlene (Clark) Kagele and daughter-in-law Sandy Frick, stepchildren Patti (Gary) Prevost and Michael (Debbie) McKee. Grandchildren Amy Hanifan, Christina (Kevin) Piatt, Ryan (Amanda) Frick, Kayla Frick, Kristin (Kurt) Jensen, Scott (Angie) Griffith, Jody (Nick) Rayfield, Hilary (Gavin) Bell, Richard (Kim) Stanford, Brooke Griffith, Amanda (Ryan) Flanery, Jessica Kagele, Melissa (Jeff) Comnick, Matthew (Sally) Kagele, and many great-grandchildren. His sister Phyllis (Chris) Larsen, sister-in-law Marion Pfeifer, brother-in-law Bud (Gerry) King along with numerous nieces and nephews. Don is preceded in death by his first wife Effie in 2010, son Jim Frick in 2020, two sisters Lorraine Goetz and Allison Swartz and his brother, David Frick. A visitation for Mr. Frick will be held on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 from 9:00-10:00 AM at the Odessa Cemetery Chapel followed by a graveside service at 10:00 AM and a Celebration of Life Memorial service at 1:30 PM at the Community Church of Ephrata, 1106 E. Division Ave, Ephrata, WA with Pastor Nathan Moser, Officiating. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.strate-funeral.com for the Frick family.
