Dorie I. GRIFFITHS

In memory of our beloved Dorie, of Spokane, Washington, passed away peacefully at Guardian Angels Homes in Post Falls, Idaho, on August 7, 2022.

Dorie was born to Auget & Frederick Frey in Preeceville, Saskatoon, Canada. She was the older sister to her younger brother, Stan Frey. Dorie married William (Bill) Ristau of Deslisle, Saskatoon, Canada. Bill and Dorie moved to Kansas City, Missouri, for better opportunities and a few years later to Spokane, Washington raising their four children, Wayne, Allan, Rob, and Carollynn. Bill and Dorie later parted ways in life.

Dorie subsequently met and fell in love with Herb Griffiths. Herb had four children, Gil, Jeff, Jay, and Diane. Dorie worked as a secretary for State of Washington Health Care, although her true calling was a homemaker. Together, Herb and Dorie built a loving family creating happy memories. Conversations in the kitchen were a large part of their lives, as Dorie was most delighted when cooking for family and friends. Every Sunday she would host family dinners, including all of her grandchildren! Her kindness, love, and wisdom touched so many lives.

Our beautiful Dorie would be dressed, makeup on, attire and jewelry to match. Classy to the end of her days, as Audrey Hepburn once said, "Elegance is the only beauty that never fades." We loved her style of feistiness and her expectations stating "and that's that!"

A graveside service will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, October 8, 2022, at Riverside Memorial Park (508 S. Government Way, Spokane, Washington 99224). The family would like to express their gratitude to Guardian Angel Homes for their care of Dorie.

Dorie will forever be our rose; we will miss her heart of passion and the brightness she brought to this world.
