Elsie ROBINETTE Obituary

ROBINETTE, Elsie Marie (Bombino) August 12, 1928 - October 31, 2018 Elsie Marie (Bombino) Robinette slipped peacefully into Heaven on October 31, 2018, with her family by her side, into the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Elsie was born on August 12, 1928, in Spokane, Washington, to Michelina Lamanna and Joseph Bombino. She was the second of four children. She lived in Spokane for 89 years before moving to an assisted-living facility near her daughter in Richland, WA. She attended grade school and junior high at St. Aloysius and graduated from Holy Names Academy in 1946. Elsie attended Kelsey-Baird secretarial school and started to work at Jensen-Bird. Elsie met LaVern Robinette and they married in October 1949. Together they welcomed three daughters into their lives and Elsie settled in as a homemaker. Nothing was more important to her than family. After raising her family, Elsie returned to work as a clerk at the Credit Bureau. Elsie and Vern had 52 wonderful years together and, after retirement, they visited seven countries and enjoyed many cruises. Baking cookies was a passion for Elsie. She knew everyone's preference and no-one ever left her home without a bag of their favorite treats. Elsie enjoyed crossword puzzles, adult coloring books, collecting Shirley Temple dolls and movies and attending plays; especially one starring her beloved grandchildren. Elsie was preceded in death by her husband, Vern, and daughters Linda Shaw and Karen Robinette. She is survived by her daughter Janet Allen and son-in-law Bill, son-in-law Darryl Shaw; grandchildren: Ryan Shaw (Nicole), Melissa Roth (Brandon), Michaela Loeffler (Charles), Nathaniel Coombs (Jessica), Nicholas Coombs (Briana) and great-grandchildren: Steve and Anna Shaw and Gabrielle and Kian Roth, and her brother Roland Bombino (Mary) and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of Elsie's life will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery and Funeral Center, 7200 N. Wall St., Spokane, at 1pm on Saturday, December 1st. A reception will follow. We would like to thank our family members and friends who helped Elsie transition to her new life and home in Richland and continued to support her until the very end. We would also like to thank Dr. David Jones, Chaplaincy Hospice Care and the staff at Bonaventure for their excellent care. In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested that donations be made to Honor Flight Northwest, Make a Wish Foundation, or St. Jude's.

My Aunt Elsie was the most loving woman I have ever met in my life. Her gentle, sweet soul will be with me forever. I am so very fortunate to have been loved by her. I know she loved me as one of her own daughters and I loved her as another Mother. Her goodness shone through to all of us. Love you Aunt Elise, I shall miss you forever. Give everyone up there a kiss for me too! Marilee

Her sweet smile, disposition and kisses on the cheek will be sorely missed. She certainly carried on the legacy of the absolutely wonderful people in the extended Lamanna family.

Mom, when your death became inevitable there was nothing more intimate or heartbreaking than being there to say Goodbye. We cried oceans together but also laughed about fond memories. A piece of me goes with you but a bigger piece will stay with me. That is LOVE- a Mothers love. You were one of my greatest gifts. Love, Janet

Aunt Elsie, you've received your angel wings and join the other angels who have gone before you. I loved that you were in the Tri Cities. I loved all our visits. I am missing you so much, but so grateful to have had the opportunity to spend so much time with you. Heaven just got a little sweeter. Love you.
